INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

PAPER TRAILS: Post-industrial histories, technical memories and art practices in Tomar.

OVERVIEW

Deindustrialization is a reality and the question of what to do with the many obsolete industrial compounds is an ever-present one. Tomar is no exception, chiefly as far as its paper factories are concerned. With this in mind, this symposium is an amalgamation of academic as well as artistic perceptions regarding the fate of examples of industrial heritage such as these while also considering the relevance of paper nowadays. Thus, we welcome scientists, scholars, students, artists, entrepreneurs, architects, industrialists to attend, explore and share their knowledge in the fields of industrial memory, industrial heritage, and of the many paper purposes.

Due to COVID-19 sanitary requirements seating is limited, thus registration is compulsory, and the deadline is on the 20th of May for logistical reasons.
